Drinks, (soft, semi-soft and not-at-all soft ) will also be on sale from 12.00 onwards.

2. VENUE:

a) Naval Baug has been arranged after hectic efforts by one of our Committee members through a friend associated with film shootings. We can assure that you will be simply thrilled to see the place and enjoy the picnic, once you are there.

b) The venue is a huge enclosed open ground with tall, swaying Palm trees (with seats around), a number of jhoolas, lush green ground and surroundings and located just on the Marve Sea Beach. Its entrance gate is just on the main road, obviating a necessity of having to walk through mud or water. Ample car parking space, toilets and outdoor water-taps are available inside the compound itself. A hall with verandahs will provide cover in case it rains heavily. Cemented open floors are there for dancing or games etc.

c) Approach: A rough sketch for route guidance is given below.

(i) The venue is situated on the main Malad-Marve Road, between two well-known hotels, ‘The Resort’ and ‘Retreat’. It is about 1.5 km beyond the ‘Resort’ and 0.5 km before the ‘Retreat’, on the right side of the road as you come from Malad side.

Besides the ‘Naal Baug’ board a big “MATHUR ASSOCIATION BOMBAY” banner will greet you at the venue gate. Right opposite this gate is another prominent board, “AMRUT BAUG” which will be another guide-point on the left side of the road.

((ii) Coming by BEST Bus: Take Marve Beach Bus No: 271 from Malad (W) Railway Station or No: 269 from Borivli (W) Railway Station. Ask for Naval Baug Stop (also known as 14-bunglow stop), close to the venue.

((iii) One can also hire an auto from Malad (W) station (about 7 km) or from a nearby convenient point on the S.V. Road, or the Andheri Link Road.

(iv) Coming by car: Reach INS Hamla T-junction, turn left and simply proceed straight. The venue is about 5 km from this point, passing through Malvani. Be on the lookout for some prominent name boards on your left for guidance, like “Bhati Cottage for Film Shooting” and “Mantra Residency” etc.

3. GENERAL:

a) A little drenching will be an enjoyable part of the game, but do bring an umbrella along. A rain-cap and a hand-towel may also be useful.

b) CRICKETERS: Bring your kit, form your teams and have a Ranji.

c) KITE-FLYERS: Bring your kites and door-manjha, and have fun shouting “Woh kaata”.

d) BEACHERS: Do enjoy strolling on the sea-beach, but going in water may be risky.

e) MUSIC & DANCE LOVERS: A good mike will be in attendance. Bring your own cassettes / CD’s (suitable for the occasion) for playing if you wish, or have solo or group singing to please yourself and others.

f) FOOTBALLERS: Bring your football and have a nice practice session.

g) Our Sub-Zonal Representatives (SZR) will soon be contacting you on phone to ascertain your participation. They may even arrange a hired (cost sharing) bus if the members desire and if there is sufficient number of people attending from the Zone.

h) The SZR of your area will be in touch with you in the future also for matters pertaining to the MAB and for other social purposes. We request you to please extend them all the necessary cooperation and always feel free to contact them whenever needed.

i) Kind attention SZR’s: Please let us have your feedback information for this picnic latest by 1st August.

So, looking forward to meet you with family at the grand Picnic on the 10th August.

For & On behalf of the Managing Committee,

Krishna Murari
